Project

Construction of Wrights Lane – Dyers Crossing

Jim Anderson Earthmoving Pty Ltd was engaged for the construction of Wrights Lane at Dyers Crossing.

The project involved full reconstruction of the existing crossing, including removal of the damaged structure and installation of new box culverts to improve long term access and drainage performance.

Works were carried out under managed traffic conditions, including short-term road closures and formal traffic control procedures. As the site involved a permanent flowing creek, sediment control measures were implemented throughout the project. The creek was pumped to facilitate preparation of the concrete base, precast placement and associated concrete works.

The scope of works included:

  • Removal of the existing crossing and temporary access structures, with materials sorted for reuse where suitable and remaining waste disposed of appropriately.
  • Survey set-out to establish resurfacing points prior to reconstruction.
  • Preparation of the base for concrete works, including coordination with subcontracted concrete crews.
  • Placement of box culverts, sealing of joints and construction of in-situ concrete wing walls.
  • Reconstruction of road approaches, including sub-base, base course and application of a two-coat seal.
  • Installation of signage, landscaping and hydroseeding, followed by removal of temporary site access.

The completed works delivered a fully reconstructed crossing and roadway connection, replacing the damaged structure with a new, purpose-built solution.

PRoject

Construction Of A New Roundabout - Pulteney & York Street Taree

Jim Anderson Earthmoving Pty Ltd was awarded the contract for constructing a new roundabout at the intersection of Pulteney & York Street in Taree.

This was a Black Spot-funded project from the Australian Government in conjunction with MidCoast Council.

Changes to traffic conditions were put in place which included dismantling of a main median strip for accessing the main entrance to Manning Base Hospital.

The end result of our work was construction of a whole new structure from start to finish, including seamless completion that ensured the finished project seemed as if it had always been there.

Project

Taree to Old Bar Cycleway

Jim Anderson Earthmoving Pty Ltd was engaged for the construction of the Taree to Old Bar Cycleway.

This MidCoast Council project involved the development of a two-metre-wide gravel cycleway, with sections of concrete installed where required. The pathway extends from the Taree Service Centre through to Old Bar, utilising a combination of National Parks, State Forest and Council road corridors.

The works required careful coordination across multiple land tenures and environments, ensuring alignment with council specifications and environmental considerations. Construction was undertaken to create a surface suitable for mountain bikes while also accommodating families and recreational users.

The completed cycleway provides a designated route separated from general traffic, forming part of a broader initiative to improve local cycling infrastructure and community connectivity between Taree and Old Bar.

Project

Cundletown Carpark and Road Widening

Jim Anderson Earthmoving Pty Ltd was engaged for the Cundletown Carpark and Road Widening project.

The works involved repair and restoration of the main boat ramp providing access to the Manning River, along with upgrades to the adjacent boat wash-out area. These improvements were carried out to enhance functionality and durability in a high-use waterfront environment.

In addition to the ramp works, the project included construction of a new car parking area. This provided clearly allocated car spaces as well as designated car and trailer parking to better accommodate recreational users and boating traffic.

The completed renovation improved access to the river and upgraded the surrounding public space, complementing the existing scenic barbeque and picnic area located along the riverbank.

Project

Crowdy Head Beach Car Park Upgrade

Jim Anderson Earthmoving has officially commenced work on the highly anticipated Crowdy Head Beach car park upgrade, working closely with the Council to minimise disruption while maintaining the project timeline.

This upgrade is a comprehensive overhaul designed to enhance the beach-going experience. Our work includes:

  • Transforming the current dirt area into a sealed car park.
  • Creating 109 defined parking spots, including three dedicated accessible spaces.
  • Implementing one-way traffic flow, clear pedestrian crossings, and connecting footpaths to improve safety.
  • Installing modern water-sensitive stormwater drainage and completing landscaping.

Our goal is to complete the project by mid-December, weather permitting, guaranteeing a superb amenity for the busy summer season.
